BARAKALDO-ERANDIO MOBILE BRIDGE

Key facts

Pedestrian and cycling bridge over the estuary of Bilbao, curved and on a slope, favouring sustainable mobility in the Bilbao Metropolitan Area.

The 13-span bridge has a total length of 371 m. Its central 60 m section, and the two 48.5 m adjacent sections, form a movable structure which rotates on two masts to open to allow large boats to pass through.

Services also cover the extension of the Altzaga park, in Erandio, which includes the construction and development of a structure over hanging the estuary, contributing to the regeneration of a new 1,970 m² space next to the walkway. The landing area on the shore of Barakaldo will adapt to the planned urban development in the area.
