Chiclayo City Stormwater Drainage System

Key facts

Area of 7,000 ha, in the urban area of the districts of Chiclayo, José Leonardo Ortiz, La Victoria and Pimentel, for a population of 390,000 inhabitants.

The project involves the construction and rehabilitation, adaptation and improvement of drainage structures, such as drains, collectors, catchments, flood parks, holding tanks, pumping and discharge stations, as well as the expansion of the network through the design of new drainage elements.

The project is part of the package of measures for comprehensive solutions in stormwater drainage, contemplated in the Comprehensive Plan for Reconstruction with Changes, being implemented by the Peruvian government within the framework of the ‘government to government’ (G2G) agreement with the United Kingdom.
