TYPSA is the lead partner in the JV appointed to deliver project management consulting services for the construction of the double-line, electrified railway track on the 46 km-long Khurja-Dadri section of the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor in India.
The corridor, an Indian Railways initiative to improve freight traffic, is currently under construction and will cover a distance of 1,839 km across the entire north-east region of the country, linking Ludhiana in Punjab, to Dankuni near Kolkata in West Bengal.
The World Bank is helping to fund the project, which is one of a series of rail corridors being upgraded to increase the Indian railway system’s transport capacity and quality of service. TYPSA’s partners in the JV, ICT (Intercontinental Consultants and Technocrats) and BARSYL, a railway specialist, are both highly experienced Indian engineering firms with significant presence in the country.
