SWING BRIDGE OVER THE RIVER TAPPSTRÖM

Key facts

This swing bridge allows the crossing of the Väg 261 – Ekerövägen road, which links the city of Stockholm with the islands of Lovön and Ekerö, over the Tappström River.

It includes tailor-made solutions both in the design of its structure and in the concept of the machinery/equipment that enables its operation.

The bridge has a pivot pier in the river that houses the lifting and swinging machinery.

The solution for the movable deck is a single steel box girder 47 m long and 20 m wide, with ribs and orthotropic slab.

The design includes the lifting elements of the deck, the bearings as well as centring/guiding elements and dampers.
