The Honorary President of TYPSA receives two prestigious awards

Pablo Bueno Sainz has received awards from both the Fundación Caminos and from the Spanish Road Association

The Fundación Caminos (Foundation of the Spanish Professional Association of Civil Engineers) has granted its annual awards, recognising the most accomplished professionals, the companies making the greatest contributions to the profession´s technical growth, the most pioneering projects in terms of structural and aesthetics, and those charitable initiatives of engineers or their companies.

The awards ceremony for 2023 took place at the end of May at a special event held at the Teatro Real in Madrid, attended by the secretary of State for Transport and Sustainable Mobility and the Secretary of State for International Cooperation.

In this edition, the Honorary President of TYPSA, Pablo Bueno Sainz, received the Professional Career award, which recognises engineers of exceptional brilliance who have excelled most in the business field, with special significance in the fields of innovation, technological development and modernisation of work and production processes.

The award was presented by the president of the Foundation, Miguel A. Carrillo. Pablo Bueno then shared a few words, expressing his thanks for the award, and highlighting the crucial role of engineering companies. He mentioned TYPSA´s recent international achievements, and the low value given to engineering in Spain, where investment is a mere third/quarter of that of developed countries. Finally, he stressed the need to reverse this situation in order to achieve excellence in companies and enhance the situation of professionals.

The award highlights Pablo as ‘a man concerned with improving society and the world in which he lives. A man who has never neglected the areas of solidarity, empathy and resilience.’

The creation and activity of the TYPSA Foundation for Development played a significant role in the decision to grant this award, which was received, on behalf of the Honorary President of TYPSA, by Luis María Navarro, director of the Foundation, during a ceremony held at the Palacio de Congresos in Toledo. The award was presented by Juan Lazcano, president of the Spanish Road Association and David Merino Rueda, director general of Roads for Castilla-La Mancha.
